Truckers to rally on anniversary of job losses, wage theft

NEW BRIGHTON

Just before Thanksgiving 2016, Lakeville Motor Express abruptly shut down operations, immediately putting 95 people out of work and failing to pay their last two weeks of wages and benefits. The workers, who are represented by Teamsters Local 120, will rally Monday, Nov. 27, at the terminal of Finish Line Express in New Brighton.

Iowa workers choose to stay union

When Iowa’s ruling Republican legislators jammed through a law requiring most of the state’s public worker unions to stand for recertification, by absolute majority votes, before they could start bargaining new contracts, they expected state and local workers and teachers would defect in droves.

ST. PAUL

St. Paul public schools nutrition services workers will vote Thursday on a new tentative contract that raises the wages of the lowest-paid employees, Teamsters Local 320 announced. The union, which had authorized a strike if needed, reached the deal after more than 16 hours of mediation.
